Cookie policy
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way.
Draft of 15 September 2026. This page has not yet been reviewed by a legal adviser, and some details are still being confirmed by Hoost.
What hoost.be uses
To see how the website is used, we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google, but only if you accept analytics cookies. Until you do, hoost.be does not load Google Analytics and sets no analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies: advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation stay switched off in Google’s consent settings, and Google signals are off.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| hoost-consent (local storage) | Hoost (hoost.be) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so the banner is not shown on every page | 12 months, then we ask again | Necessary |
| _ga | Google (Google Analytics 4) | Distinguishes visitors with a random identifier, to count visits and see how the website is used | 2 years | Analytics (only with your consent) |
| _ga_Y4E9N17BK7 | Google (Google Analytics 4) | Keeps track of the current visit (session) for Google Analytics | 2 years | Analytics (only with your consent) |
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies, with “Accept” and “Reject” side by side. Your choice is kept in your browser (local storage, not a cookie) and we ask again after 12 months. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; if you reject after accepting, the Google Analytics cookies are removed. The durations of the Google cookies are those stated by Google. How Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com.
Links to other websites
Some pages link to other websites, such as Hoost’s direct booking pages (run on Hospitable), Airbnb and WhatsApp, and to email or phone apps. Once you follow such a link, that website’s own cookie and privacy policies apply.
If this changes
If Hoost adds analytics or other cookies that are not strictly necessary, this page will list them first, and we will ask for your consent before they are used.
