Part of Staying in Antwerp for work
How do you get from Brussels Airport to Antwerp?
The easiest way from Brussels Airport to Antwerp is the direct train from the station below the terminal. NMBS/SNCB gives about 30 minutes to Antwerp. From Antwerpen-Centraal, trams 2 and 6 run to Antwerp South, where Hoost has furnished apartments in Antwerp. By car, the building is outside the low-emission zone.

You land at Brussels Airport (Zaventem) with a suitcase, and your stay is in Antwerp. Perhaps you start work tomorrow, or your family is tired after the flight. Here is the simplest route, from the arrivals hall to the door in Antwerp South.
How do you get from Brussels Airport to Antwerp by train?
The direct train is the simplest way from Brussels Airport to Antwerp. The station is under the departures and arrivals hall, so you walk down from the terminal. On its Brussels Airport page, NMBS/SNCB gives about 30 minutes to Antwerp.
What to know before you board:
- Tickets. NMBS/SNCB sells tickets on its website, in its app, at ticket machines and at the ticket office.
- The airport supplement. NMBS/SNCB says the Brussels Airport Supplement is included in most tickets to and from the airport. Its airport page lists the exceptions.
- The gates. The airport station has access gates, so keep your ticket ready.
- Where to get off. For Antwerp South, stay on until Antwerpen-Centraal. That is where trams 2 and 6 start their run south.
Check the live timetable before you travel, especially late in the evening or at weekends. If you are coming for work, our pillar on where to stay in Antwerp for work covers Expo, the port and the hospitals.
From Antwerpen-Centraal to Antwerp South by tram 2 or 6
From Antwerpen-Centraal to Antwerp South, take tram 2 or tram 6 from the Diamant stop. De Lijn places the Diamant metro station next to Antwerpen-Centraal, on Pelikaanstraat. Both lines stop there, and the Hoost building is about 4.3 km from Centraal in a straight line.
The two lines share their route south of the station. The De Lijn timetable for tram 2 and the one for tram 6 both run from Diamant via Plantin, Harmonie and deSingel. They then pass Antwerp Expo and reach the Olympiade stops near the building. Take whichever comes first.

Brussels Airport to Antwerp by car: what to know
By car, the main question is the low-emission zone, not the route. The Hoost building is outside the Antwerp LEZ, about 1.3 km from its nearest boundary. Driving on into the city centre inside the ring does enter the zone. Check that your car may enter before you do.
Parking is the second point. There is no parking on the property. P+R Olympiade, about 0.2 km from the building, has a low daily rate set by the city, and there is paid parking nearby. The guide to parking and the LEZ in Antwerp covers the rules and the park and ride sites.
A team arriving with a van or several cars should mention it when sending dates. We can then look at the options for your group, and our page on project accommodation in Antwerp explains how team stays work.
Arriving at your accommodation in Antwerp South
Arriving at a Hoost apartment in Antwerp South works without a reception. You check in yourself with a lockbox from 15:00, and check out by 11:00. With a lockbox, a late arrival does not depend on office hours.
What is ready when you walk in:
- A bed. A double bed in every bedroom, with bed linen and towels.
- A kitchen. Cooking basics, so you can make a simple meal on the first evening.
- A desk. Wi-Fi and Ethernet on a Telenet fibre connection, in every apartment.
- For families. A cot and a high chair on request; the first-floor apartment has a terrace.
- For companies. Company invoicing, and four apartments in one building for a team.
If your flight lands in the morning, mention it when you book. Luggage drop-off is listed for the apartments, and we can tell you what is possible for your date.
When Hoost is not the right choice
Hoost suits arrivals who stay at least two nights in Antwerp. It is not the answer for every trip:
- You fly out the next morning. The minimum stay is two nights; an airport hotel is easier for one night.
- You want to sleep near the airport. Antwerp South is a train and a tram ride away.
- You need a reception at midnight. Arrival is self check-in, without a front desk.
- You need parking on the property. There is none.
- You stay longer than six months in one booking. A longer stay continues with a new booking.
