Part of Staying in Antwerp for work
Corporate housing or a hotel: which is better for a work stay in Antwerp?
For one to three nights, a hotel is usually simpler. For a week or more, or for a team, corporate housing wins: a kitchen, a real workspace, laundry and a private bedroom per person. Hoost offers corporate housing in Antwerp from 2 nights to 6 months, with company invoicing.

You are booking a stay for yourself, an employee or a project team, and the trip is longer than a quick visit. A hotel is the default choice. After a few nights, though, the small room, the restaurant meals and the missing desk start to cost time and money.
Corporate housing vs hotel: what does each include?
Corporate housing is a furnished apartment booked for a work stay, usually for a week or longer. A hotel is a room with daily services. The main difference is space and self-sufficiency. An apartment gives you a kitchen, a living area and laundry. A hotel gives you housekeeping and a reception.
The table compares a typical business hotel room with a Hoost apartment. The Hoost column uses only verified facts about the four apartments in Antwerp South. For the bigger picture of areas and arrival, see where to stay in Antwerp for work.
Hotel room vs Hoost apartment for a work stay
| Business hotel room | Hoost apartment | |
|---|---|---|
| Space | One room with a bathroom | One or two bedrooms, kitchen, dining table |
| Kitchen | Rarely; sometimes a kettle or minibar | Kitchen with cooking basics in every apartment |
| Workspace | Often a small desk | Dedicated workspace with Wi-Fi and Ethernet |
| Laundry | Paid laundry service | Shared washing machine and dryer in the building |
| Cleaning | Daily housekeeping | Cleaning per booking; extra cleaning about every two weeks on request |
| Arrival | Reception desk | Self check-in with a lockbox, from 15:00 |
| Stay length | Any number of nights | 2 nights to 6 months per booking |
| Team of several people | Separate rooms, sometimes on different floors | Up to 7 private bedrooms in one building |
| Invoice | Usually per room | Company invoicing for the whole booking |
| Utilities | Included | Electricity, heating and water included |
| City tax | Usually added per person per night | Charged separately, per person per night |
What is the difference between corporate housing and serviced apartments?
Corporate housing and serviced apartments overlap, and the names are used loosely. Serviced apartments usually add hotel-style services, such as frequent cleaning or a reception. Corporate housing usually means a furnished apartment for a longer work stay, with fewer services and more independence.
Hoost is closer to corporate housing. There is no reception and no daily housekeeping. Instead, you get a self-contained apartment, a direct contact for questions, and company invoicing. If your team expects hotel services every day, a serviced apartment or a hotel will feel more familiar.
When does corporate housing suit a work stay better than a hotel?
Corporate housing suits a work stay better than a hotel once the stay passes about a week, or when several colleagues travel together. Three things then start to matter: cooking your own meals, working properly from your room, and washing your own clothes.
Longer assignments. On a six-week project, eating out every night gets tiring and expensive. A kitchen with a dining table lets people keep normal routines. The shared washer and dryer mean nobody has to pack for six weeks.
Remote work and calls. Every Hoost apartment has a dedicated workspace with Wi-Fi and an Ethernet connection, on a Telenet fibre line. That suits engineers writing reports and consultants on video calls.
Teams. The four apartments hold up to 14 guests, or up to 7 people with a private bedroom each. A crew stays in one building, with one contact and one invoice. For a team of two, our second-floor apartment gives each person a bedroom with a double bed.
Trade fairs. Exhibitors at Antwerp Expo often stay for build-up, the fair and breakdown. Antwerp Expo lists its tram and parking options, including P+R Olympiade, which is about 0.2 km from the Hoost building.
When is a hotel the better choice for a work stay in Antwerp?
A hotel is the better choice for a work stay of one night, or when you need services an apartment does not offer. That includes daily housekeeping, breakfast, a reception at all hours, room service and meeting rooms in the same building. Hoost’s minimum stay is 2 nights, so a single night is a hotel job.
A hotel can also suit a visitor who has never been to Antwerp and wants someone at a desk on arrival. At Hoost, arrival is by self check-in with a lockbox. Most business guests find that easier after a late train, but it is a different experience. Think about who is travelling: a first-time visitor may prefer a hotel, while a returning engineer usually wants the space.
Corporate housing vs Airbnb: what changes for the company?
Corporate housing and a holiday rental can look alike in photos. For a company, the difference is in the paperwork and the planning. A business booking needs an invoice in the company’s name, clear terms and a contact who answers when plans change.
At Hoost, the company gets one contact for all four apartments, company invoicing, and written confirmation of each booking. Dates can be changed if the new dates are free. There is no deposit. The cancellation policy is strict, so check the terms before you confirm.
One administrative point applies to foreign staff. Stad Antwerpen asks non-Belgians who stay up to 3 months, and not in a hotel, hospital or detention, to report their stay. The city’s short-stay page sets the deadline: within 10 days of arrival in Belgium for EU citizens, and within 3 working days for others.
How do you compare the cost of corporate housing and a hotel?
Compare corporate housing and a hotel on the total cost of the stay, not the nightly rate. A cheap room can cost more once meals, laundry and extra rooms are added. An apartment can cost more for a single night but less over a month. Ask both options for a quote on the same dates and the same number of people, then compare line by line.
Add up these items for both options:
- Rooms per person: one two-bedroom apartment can replace two hotel rooms.
- Meals: count how many dinners the team will eat out.
- Laundry: a hotel laundry service against the shared washer and dryer in the building.
- Cleaning: daily housekeeping against cleaning per booking, plus extra cleaning on long stays.
- City tax: Antwerp charges it per person and per night, and children under 12 are exempt.
- Travel to the site: time on the road each day is a cost too.
Note
Hoost does not publish prices. Send your dates and team size, and you get a proposal that includes cleaning, so the comparison is fair.
When Hoost is not the right choice
Hoost is not the right choice for a single night or for guests who want daily housekeeping or breakfast. One booking also cannot run longer than 6 months. It is also not suitable if someone must register their address during the stay, or if you need parking on site or a meeting room.

Frequently asked questions
Is corporate housing cheaper than a hotel?
It depends on the length of stay and the number of people. On longer stays, a kitchen and laundry cut meal and cleaning costs, and a two-bedroom apartment can replace two hotel rooms. Ask for a quote for your dates and compare the full cost.
Is city tax included in a Hoost stay?
No. The Antwerp city tax is charged separately, per person and per night. Children under 12 are exempt, according to the city.
Is there a deposit for a company booking?
No. Hoost does not ask for a deposit. Bookings are confirmed in writing.
Can two colleagues share one apartment?
Yes. Each two-bedroom apartment has two bedrooms with a double bed each, so two colleagues each get a private bedroom and share the kitchen and workspace.
