Your team has a job on the Left Bank, at a plant in Kallo or in a contractor yard in Zwijndrecht. You need beds from a fixed date, a kitchen and a washing machine for work clothes. Most of all, you need to know how far the site really is.

Port of Antwerp accommodation on the south side of the ring

Hoost’s Port of Antwerp accommodation is not in the port. Our four furnished apartments share one building at VIIde-Olympiadelaan 19, in Antwerp South near Middelheim Park. That is the south side of the ring, next to the Kennedytunnel, which takes the R1 under the Scheldt to the Left Bank.

For a crew, that position has two sides. The Left Bank, Zwijndrecht and the employers in Hoboken, Wilrijk and Mortsel are close. The far north of the port, with Doel and BASF, is about 30 km by road. We would rather tell you that now than after the first week of early shifts.

After the shift your team comes home to Antwerp South, near Middelheim Park, with trams 2 and 6 nearby, not to an industrial estate. The building is outside the Antwerp low-emission zone, which helps if your vans are older.

Road distances to the Left Bank, Doel and the chemical cluster

The distances below are road km on the fastest car route from the building, measured on 14 October 2026 with OpenStreetMap routing. They are distances, not travel times: traffic at the Kennedytunnel changes by the hour.

Road distance from VIIde-Olympiadelaan 19, and what it means for a crew

Destination Road distance Fit for a daily commute
Kennedytunnel (R1) about 3.2 km Very close
Zwijndrecht about 7.8 km Close, first stop on the Left Bank
ExxonMobil refinery about 12.9 km Workable
Kallo about 13.4 km Workable
Beveren about 13.8 km Workable
TotalEnergies refinery about 15.9 km Workable
Deurganckdok about 20.7 km Long, plan for traffic
BASF Antwerpen about 29.0 km Far, consider a base further north
Doel nuclear plant about 29.6 km Far, consider a base further north

Two practical notes for vans. The Vlaams Verkeerscentrum says the Kennedytunnel is closed to dangerous goods, and it lists the planned night closures of one tube. Further north, the Liefkenshoektunnel is a toll tunnel; the operator publishes its own rates.

Our guide on how to get to the Port of Antwerp covers the tunnels, the Oosterweel works and the options without a car. If your site is on the south side itself, see our page on accommodation in Wilrijk, Hoboken and Mortsel.

Port of Antwerp accommodation for crews and engineers

Port of Antwerp accommodation at Hoost works best for a small crew, a site team or a few engineers who want their own front door. The building has one 1-bedroom apartment for up to 2 guests and three 2-bedroom apartments for up to 4 guests each. Every bedroom has a double bed, so sharing a bedroom means sharing a bed.

Which apartments suit your crew

Crew size Everyone in their own bedroom Sharing bedrooms
2 people One 2-bedroom apartment The ground-floor apartment
4 people Two 2-bedroom apartments One 2-bedroom apartment
7 people The whole building Two 2-bedroom apartments
14 people Not possible The whole building

Every apartment has a kitchen with cooking basics, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace with Ethernet, heating and a TV. A shared washing machine and dryer are in the building, so overalls do not wait for the weekend. The site lead gets a real desk and a wired connection for evening reports.

The second-floor apartment suits two engineers. The first-floor apartment with terrace adds outdoor space, and the ground-floor apartment with garden suits one supervisor. For larger teams and framework bookings, see our project accommodation in Antwerp.

Parking, self check-in and invoicing

There is no parking at the building and no free street parking. P+R Olympiade is about 0.2 km away, with a low daily rate set by the city, and there is paid parking nearby. Our guide to parking and the LEZ in Antwerp explains the options.

Arrival is by self check-in with a lockbox, from 15:00, and check-out is by 11:00. Stays run from 2 nights to 6 months per booking. Company invoicing is available, so the project office receives one invoice for the whole team.

Three things matter to crews that we have not confirmed yet. Ask us about each one with your dates:

  • parking a van or a small truck in the street near the building;
  • rotating named crew members within one booking;
  • an early or late check-in to match a shift.

A crew from abroad usually files a Limosa declaration before work starts. Our guide to the Limosa declaration for posted workers covers who files it. For hotels, worker houses and apartments compared, read our guide on contractor accommodation in Belgium.

When Hoost is not the right choice

Hoost is not the right choice if your crew works at Doel, BASF or the far end of the Waasland port every day. That is about 30 km by road each way, and a base closer to the site saves a lot of driving over a long job.

Look elsewhere too if you need beds for more than 14 people or more than 7 private bedrooms, or parking on site for several vehicles. Address registration is not possible during a stay. Daily housekeeping and hotel services are not part of it, and one booking lasts at most 6 months. For a wider view of the areas companies use, read our pillar on where to stay in Antwerp for work.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hoost inside the port?

No. The building is in Antwerp South, near Middelheim Park, on the south side of the ring. The Kennedytunnel to the Left Bank is about 3.2 km by road; the docks themselves are further.

Can a crew stay for a whole shutdown or a long project?

One booking runs from 2 nights to 6 months. A longer project continues with a new booking, subject to availability.

Can we swap crew members during one booking?

Ask us. Whether named crew members can rotate within one booking has not been confirmed, so we answer it for your dates and team.

Can crew members register their address at the apartment?

No. Address registration (domicile) is not possible during a stay, so each person's registered address stays at home or elsewhere.

Is there cleaning during a long job?

There is no daily housekeeping. On longer stays, extra cleaning can be arranged roughly every two weeks, at extra cost. Bed linen and towels are provided at the start of the stay and are not changed during it.
